Pension Boards

The role of a pension board is to assist the Scheme Manager in the operational delivery of the pension scheme in line with scheme regulations and expectations set by the Pensions Regulator.

The Public Service Pensions Act 2013 required pension boards to be established for the four public service pension schemes administered by SPPA.

Pension boards have an equal number of employer representatives and member representatives (they may also have other types of members, such as independent experts).

All pension board members have a duty to act in accordance with scheme regulations and other governing documents.
