We've been made aware that some companies and Financial Advisors are cold calling individuals advising that they have been elected to act on behalf of the Government, to investigate pensions and their charges and offered to visit their home to obtain a signed authority form. This is alleged to be in conjunction with the Government initiative to offer everyone free unbiased pension advice.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has advised people not to disclose their pension details over the telephone to companies' cold calling. If you'd like to review your pension then you should consult with a FCA regulated company of your choosing and don't respond to cold calling requests.
If you have any concerns please report the incident to your local police force or the non-emergency contact '101'.
