The Scottish Public Pensions Agency's Finance Directorate are celebrating success after being announced Public sector finance team of the year at The 2014 Scottish Accountancy and Finance Awards.
The award was announced in Glasgow in front of over 400 captains of industry and representatives of the wider business community. Judging was by an independent panel of experts with research being carried out by the Business School at Edinburgh Napier University.
Speaking after the awards ceremony SPPA Director of Finance Ian Waugh said: "This award is tribute to the hard work put in by SPPA's Finance team over many months working closely with other Agency directorates and our stakeholders. SPPA are fortunate to have a pool of talented and well qualified staff living and working in the Scottish Borders making it an attractive place for Government and the private sector to do business."
The ceremony rewards and publicises the achievements of individuals, teams and organisations within the Scottish accountancy and finance sectors and reflect the impact accountants have on business in Scotland.
The SPPA Finance Directorate comprises of 11 full-time and three part-time staff and collects £1.5 billion in pension contributions annually and prepares sets of accounts for the Agency and its pension schemes.
