A consultation on draft regulations to introduce proposed increases in employee contributions to public sector pension schemes in Scotland from April 2013 has now concluded.
In a statement to Parliament on 28th November 2012, the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth, John Swinney, announced the Scottish Government’s decision to implement the second annual increment of UK Government proposed employee contribution increases for the Teachers’, NHS, Police and Firefighters’ schemes in Scotland. On 20th December 2012, the SPPA began public consultations on draft regulations that will introduce the Scottish Government’s proposals for these increases to the Teachers’, NHS, and Firefighters’ pension schemes in Scotland. A consultation concerning the Police Pension Scheme began on 24th January 2013 and concluded on 20th February 2013.
