The NHS pension scheme in Scotland is set out in Regulations approved by the Scottish Parliament and HM Treasury who underwrite the scheme.
Following recent reforms the 1995 and 2008 sections are now closed to new joiners from 1 April 2015. A new Career Average Revalued Scheme known as a CARE scheme was introduced for new members from 1 April 2015 and further details on this scheme can be accessed from the SPPA 2015 Scheme microsite by clicking here
In addition to the main scheme regulations we also have regulations to cover the purchase of Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs), Injury Benefits and Compensation on redundancy.
