Teachers calculator now live

The Teachers' Pension Calculator provides you with an illustration of your benefits at a retirement date selected by you. The calculator can be used by most members of the 2005 scheme (Normal Pension Age 60 or 65) and the 2015 scheme, and those with membership of both. This calculator should be used for guidance purposes only and is not a guarantee of future benefits. It is not intended to provide you with financial advice. If you require financial advice, you should contact an independent financial adviser.

Before you start, it may be useful to view your most recent Annual Benefit Statement. You should:

  • Make sure that you have read the notes and assumptions on the calculator
  • Know the date you joined the scheme
  • Know your pensionable salary
  • know any service credited from a transfer in (final salary scheme only).

What the calculator provides:

  • The calculator offers an illustration of benefits that could become payable from the Teachers' Schemes at a retirement date selected by you, at today's value.
  • It shows benefits payable for each scheme you have been a member of
  • An estimate of the maximum lump sum that could be payable
  • A printable copy of the results produced.

What the Calculator does not provide:

  • How your pension is calculated
  • The effect of pensions tax charges on your benefits
  • Details of future state pension or private pension provision
  • Details of pension benefits for part-time workers with more than one employment
  • Details of any ill health benefits
  • Details of any survivor benefits payable in the event of your death
  • Details of any optional benefits, such as added years, additional pension, additional voluntary contributions, faster accrual and standard buy out election.
