The Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) today announced the award of a £6 million (circa) contract for a new integrated pensions IT software solution to Capita Employee Benefits Ltd.
Chief Executive Ross Paterson said:
"The award of this contract represents a substantial investment in our customer service capability. I relish overseeing a transformation in the delivery of our business by enhancing and extending the digital services we can provide to our members, employers and beneficiaries.
After a number of years working with our present suppliers, we are required under the procurement rules to carry out a competitive procurement exercise for a new contract for the provision of our Pension Administration software solution. We are grateful to Heywood, NorthgateArinso and Pulsion for sharing our journey to this point.
Having undertaken a robust procurement process underpinned by a very clear vision of our digital aspirations I am confident we will be providing value for money to taxpayers whilst realising greater efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
As a significant employer in the Scottish Borders, this investment in our IT infrastructure should give confidence to both employees and the local economy that SPPA is progressive and stable employer in the region."
The scope of the contract is to purchase, implement and support an integrated Pensions Administration, Payroll and Digital Services Software solution for pension schemes administered by the Agency.
SPPA are looking to minimise manual intervention for a number of key processes and facilitate straight through processing and self-service where possible.
